Meaningful stakeholder engagement

Meaningful stakeholder engagement is a crucial element of HRDD; without it, implementation cannot be impactful. Currently, however, there is a lack of consensus across the industry on how it can be defined, and how it works in practice. The simple premise is that the engagement of workers, factory management, and other affected stakeholders must be systematically integrated into each six steps of the OECD Due Diligence Cycle, from risk identification to effective remedy. We are currently working with our STITCH partners to carve out how this can be done both practically and meaningfully. The culmination of these efforts will be a workshop with all STITCH consortium partners, the results of which will be delivered in early Jun 2024.
